As we move into 2021’s summer and the graduation of humanity out of chaos, we are pleased to present a live event for you to enjoy. Born from the love of local food and community, the Rural Roots Farmer Showcase is on again, August 14 at George Pegg Botanic Garden, northwest of Edmonton. Bring the whole family as we have a variety of daytime events at our Producer Market and showcase from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Many local vendors and artisans will present their best in fresh produce, meats, breads, locally roasted coffee, cheese and condiments.

Make sure to take in this very special family-friendly and food-focused day! Meet area ag producers representing their farms and showcasing their fresh products in an open-air market.
This event provides a unique opportunity for food lovers to meet farmers and ranchers who share their passion for quality. Discover a unique variety of exceptional local meat products like chicken and rabbit. The market also features farm-fresh eggs, organic and naturally grown vegetables and fruits, flavourful preserves, locally crafted cheese, aromatic coffee beans, and many other delicacies to eat on site or take home.

4H clubs are an important part of many rural communities. You will also meet members of the Cherhill Multi-Club. From beef and lamb to quilting and foods, learn about their wide range or products.
Along with the market, activities for all ages are planned, including Garden tours, and children’s crafts. CBC Radio’s house chef Doreen Prei will be on site preparing the Rural Roots Farmer Showcase Posh Picnic for the evening. Catch her cooking demo at the end of the market and learn some tips for your food purchases.
This market is in celebration of Alberta Open Farm Days- showcasing the agricultural bounty of our region.
